Matches in Tin - Nomenclature of Colors
A lovely way to bring a bit of colour to the everyday business of lighting a candle, these Ridgway’s Nomenclature of Colors Safety Matches are almost too good to tuck away in a drawer.
The design is inspired by Ridgway’s Nomenclature of Colors, the influential colour reference guide created by ornithologist Robert Ridgway in 1886. Originally developed to help identify and describe the colours found in birds, plants and the natural world, its beautifully ordered swatches now make a rather fabulous design for this reusable match tin.
Inside you’ll find 100 safety matches with wonderfully colourful tips, while the outside features a smart deep blue finish and a brass holder containing the striker paper. The sliding lid adds to its vintage feel and, once you’ve worked your way through the matches, the tin can simply be refilled.
Perfect beside a favourite candle, on the mantelpiece or coffee table, it makes a brilliant little gift for colour lovers, artists, designers and anyone who appreciates something useful that also happens to look very good.
Contains 100 safety matches.
Keep away from children, heat, sparks and open flames. Store in a dry place.
