    New Term New Goodies

    New Term New Goodies

As the month of August seems to be hurtling by, we're sure there's lots of parents out there starting to breathe a tiny sigh of relief. Whether it's just starting school, or taking a big leap to university for the first time, a new term will soon be starting and children young and old all over the country will be back to education. This might be exciting for your children, or perhaps very daunting, but however they might be feeling, one thing's for sure: there's plenty to get organised.

Fear not! Maybe we can help with some of these gorgeous goodies, including backpacks, lunch bags, stationery and even some good luck cards for the older children heading off to uni for the first time. Before you know it, the new academic year will feel easy peasy to take on.

Starting with the younger kids, we've got plenty of goodies to get them ready. From lovely backpacks, bottles and lunch bags from Frugi (which can be bought on their own but also look great as a set), to delicious stationery from If & Bookaroo or Djeco. Take the If Children's reading timer, for example, to help them get back into homework duties. Or one of their fab brightly coloured notebooks and some Djeco glitter pens to make their note-taking a bit more fun.

Or if they feel a bit too old for Frugi, the Eco Chic backpacks have got some lovely designs and they foldaway into neat little packages so when they're not in use they can be stored easily.

Now for the older children, Bookaroo and Busy B are gorgeous stationery brands for them. Whether they want to organise their studying hours for the week with a weekly planner, or keep their notes and pens etc together with the Bookaroo notebook accessories. The new pouches would make for ideal uni gifts for storing books and everyday stationery bits.

We all know one of the best ways to do well is by treating yourself well. Ensure your children are staying hydrated with a fabulous Chilly's bottle to take with them to class, or maybe a reusable coffee cup to fuel those 9am lectures.

Finally for many of the older children, starting university can be scary. Wish them all the best with a good luck card to finish off the gift.

    Get Buzzing over Insect Goodies

    Get Buzzing over Insect Goodies

Whether you're fascinated by them or terrified of them, bugs and insects can be found wherever you go. But, as the little creepy crawlers come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, their unique patterns and colours can make for some great inspiration for homeware, don't you think?

So perhaps letting these glorious goodies come buzzing into your home wouldn't be such a bad thing..

From Emma Bridgewater and Gisela Graham to Frugi and East of India, there are lots of brands in Daisy Park that feature pretty little creatures. Most common is of course the incredibly popular Bumblebee, which we are all for because they are undeniably cute.

We're also loving the Emma Bridgewater butterflies and bugs range. The Chilly's bottle in this design is a personal favourite of ours, as but there are lots of gorgeous butterfly designs from other brands too. Such as the Eco Chic bags and coffee cups, and even some of the Djeco kids toys.

PICS: Eco Chic butterflies, kids stuff?

Even East of India can bring some bugs life into their products. These bits make for some lovely gifts if you know anyone who loves bees or butterflies, aren't they just the cutest?

So if you or someone you care about has a love for all things insects, then perhaps some of these goodies will be something for you or them to get buzzing with excitement over. Normally we might try to get these creatures out of our homes, but these ones we might just have to let live here for a while..

    Gifts for your BFF

    Gifts for your BFF

Friends. What would we do without them, hey? Though they may not always be physically there, they are always there. And though we may not have been able to see them as much as we’d like over the past year or so, it’s made us appreciate them more than ever.

This Friday, 30th July was national friendship day, but we think they should be celebrated and cherished every day. So we’ve put together some wonderful little goodies perfect for reminding your loved ones how much you care. If you feel like doing that, then read on for some inspiration.

When it comes to friends and showing sentiment, East of India is the one. There’s so many lovely, meaningful quotes on various little trinkets to choose from. Whether it’s the classic hanging hearts, coasters, candles or the newest mini matchbox tokens, we’re sure you’ll find something to hit the spot.
Getting a friend one of these fabulous little Erstwilder pins with witty, sweet messages on would make for a lovely little gift too. It’ll be something for them to pop on a bag or jacket so that they can carry it around with them all the time.
We all love a good ‘cuppa & catch up’. If it’s a friends birthday coming up, you could gift them a gorgeous Asta Barrington tray with their favourite drink on, or perhaps just a word you both love. Then serve up your drink and treat of choice on it to add that touch more fun to your meet-ups!

Finally, if you’re not too fussed about gifts but just want to send them something to show some love, why not just pop a card in the post. We’ve got funny ones or sweet ones but each says that you care in its own little way. Our personal current fave is the Emma bridgewater ‘soul sisters’ card.

Whether it'll be a gift, card or just a text or phone call, let your nearest and dearest know how much you love them this World Friendship Day. Of course we should do it all the time anyway, but if this is a good excuse then we say take it.

Eco Goodies for Plastic Free July

Eco Goodies for Plastic Free July

Here at Daisy Park we're always trying to do our bit towards helping the environment. One way of doing that is by continuing to stock an increasing amount of products that are both sustainably made and will continue to benefit both the planet and us!

As July is plastic free month, we thought we'd put together some of our favourite products that are free from plastic and will help us all to reduce the overall amount of plastic we use. From reusable insulated water bottles to stop us buying plastic water bottles, to beeswax food wraps to prevent us using cling film or sandwich bags, there's some brilliant goodies that of course, are gorgeous too.

One of the best ways to instantly reduce your plastic consumption is by opting for a reusable drinks bottle rather than buying new ones regularly. These days there's so many fabulous choices out there, and we're proud to stock the iconic Chilly's bottles, as well as 'Gift of the Year' winners Bioloco Loops, Rex London and Dopper bottles (more of these coming very soon so watch this space). Most of these keep your drink of choice either cold for 24 hours, or hot for 8-12 - perfect right?

Next up is reusable bags. You could treat yourself to one of the gorgeous Hinza bags that can have many different uses such as picnics, shopping or gardening to name a few. Or there’s Eco Chic backpacks or the lovely Emma Bridgewater foldaway bags. All help to reduce the amount of plastic carrier bags being used which is just great.

If you often wrap your sandwiches in cling film or sandwich bags, these might be a great new alternative for you: beeswax food wraps. Made from ethical fabrics and coated in beeswax for easy cleaning, these wraps not only keep your lunch fresh, but also look gorgeous in doing so! We’ve got three fabulous Emma Bridgewater designs in different sized packs with various sizings for whatever you can think of to use them for.

These are some of our favourite sustainable bits that are often seen as a sort of ‘starter pack’ to getting greener, but we stock various other sustainable brands and products. From Eco Chic lunch bags and cool bags, Frugi organic kids clothing and backpacks, to St Eval candles which are all made with the planet in mind and zero plastic. We’re proud to be a part of the ever-growing change to being kinder to our lovely world Earth.

    Summer Florals

    Summer Florals

Here in South Molton in lovely North Devon we’ve got the summer season event of ‘South Molton in Bloom’ getting underway. Businesses around the town contribute and it means that beautiful bright flowers can be seen all around the square and elsewhere. We love it so much that we thought we’d theme this weeks blog post on all things floral to celebrate one of our favourite times of the year.

Emma Bridgewaters newest floral range is certainly one that has a place here. We love it, particularly the sunflower tray which is just so bright and sunny. Plus the mini tins which are super sweet and can be used to store little bits and bobs, or used as part of a gift stuffed with some sweets. Then there’s also the brand new calendars. We know it’s only July but we’re already getting ready for next year, and thanks to their gorgeous design they even fit in with the floral theme too.

Pip studio goodies are always bright and colourful much like seasonal flowers, especially the Blushing Birds ranges. Available in reds, yellows, blues pinks or khakis, there’s plenty to choose from to suit all tastes and add a touch of vibrancy to your home this summer. Even if it’s just for decoration such as using a mug to keep pens or makeup brushes in.

Gisela Graham mugs are such lovely mugs to have in the home or give as gifts. The sunflower mini mug & jug is the cutest little set and matches really well with all of the other lovely flowery goodies. If you’re a lover of sunflowers and have some growing in your own garden, these might be perfect for a cuppa whilst you give them some TLC.

Finally, although not necessarily floral in design, Hinza bags are such a great accompaniment to any flower or garden theme as they’re so useful for either storing gardening tools or making a quirky alternative to a plant pot. We think they look fabulous with some flowers in!

We do love a bright window, and right now our display is certainly looking that way, with all of these tulips, sunflowers and more, plus all of the lovely flowers all over town, its really looking quite gorgeous at the moment, just what we’ve all needed!
