    New Term New Goodies

    New Term New Goodies

As the month of August seems to be hurtling by, we're sure there's lots of parents out there starting to breathe a tiny sigh of relief. Whether it's just starting school, or taking a big leap to university for the first time, a new term will soon be starting and children young and old all over the country will be back to education. This might be exciting for your children, or perhaps very daunting, but however they might be feeling, one thing's for sure: there's plenty to get organised.

Fear not! Maybe we can help with some of these gorgeous goodies, including backpacks, lunch bags, stationery and even some good luck cards for the older children heading off to uni for the first time. Before you know it, the new academic year will feel easy peasy to take on.

Starting with the younger kids, we've got plenty of goodies to get them ready. From lovely backpacks, bottles and lunch bags from Frugi (which can be bought on their own but also look great as a set), to delicious stationery from If & Bookaroo or Djeco. Take the If Children's reading timer, for example, to help them get back into homework duties. Or one of their fab brightly coloured notebooks and some Djeco glitter pens to make their note-taking a bit more fun.

Or if they feel a bit too old for Frugi, the Eco Chic backpacks have got some lovely designs and they foldaway into neat little packages so when they're not in use they can be stored easily.

Now for the older children, Bookaroo and Busy B are gorgeous stationery brands for them. Whether they want to organise their studying hours for the week with a weekly planner, or keep their notes and pens etc together with the Bookaroo notebook accessories. The new pouches would make for ideal uni gifts for storing books and everyday stationery bits.

We all know one of the best ways to do well is by treating yourself well. Ensure your children are staying hydrated with a fabulous Chilly's bottle to take with them to class, or maybe a reusable coffee cup to fuel those 9am lectures.

Finally for many of the older children, starting university can be scary. Wish them all the best with a good luck card to finish off the gift.

    Gifts for your BFF

    Gifts for your BFF

Friends. What would we do without them, hey? Though they may not always be physically there, they are always there. And though we may not have been able to see them as much as we’d like over the past year or so, it’s made us appreciate them more than ever.

This Friday, 30th July was national friendship day, but we think they should be celebrated and cherished every day. So we’ve put together some wonderful little goodies perfect for reminding your loved ones how much you care. If you feel like doing that, then read on for some inspiration.

When it comes to friends and showing sentiment, East of India is the one. There’s so many lovely, meaningful quotes on various little trinkets to choose from. Whether it’s the classic hanging hearts, coasters, candles or the newest mini matchbox tokens, we’re sure you’ll find something to hit the spot.
Getting a friend one of these fabulous little Erstwilder pins with witty, sweet messages on would make for a lovely little gift too. It’ll be something for them to pop on a bag or jacket so that they can carry it around with them all the time.
We all love a good ‘cuppa & catch up’. If it’s a friends birthday coming up, you could gift them a gorgeous Asta Barrington tray with their favourite drink on, or perhaps just a word you both love. Then serve up your drink and treat of choice on it to add that touch more fun to your meet-ups!

Finally, if you’re not too fussed about gifts but just want to send them something to show some love, why not just pop a card in the post. We’ve got funny ones or sweet ones but each says that you care in its own little way. Our personal current fave is the Emma bridgewater ‘soul sisters’ card.

Whether it'll be a gift, card or just a text or phone call, let your nearest and dearest know how much you love them this World Friendship Day. Of course we should do it all the time anyway, but if this is a good excuse then we say take it.

    New Baby Gifts

    New Baby Gifts

There have been many things to come out of this pandemic. Banana breads, home workouts, the return of the UK holiday and of course babies. Since it all started it's probably safe to say that there has been somewhat of a baby boom, don't you think?

The wonderful thing about babies is that they never fail to bring a warmth that can't quite be found anywhere else. We're not saying it's all love and happiness, of course babies bring their fair share of stress along with them too. It's just a reminder that they can also inspire hope, reconnection and general love to families after the hardships the past 18 months have involved.

So if someone you know is due very soon or has just had a baby, then here's a collection of goodies that we think would make for some gorgeous gifts for the little ones, with the bonus of a couple for the new parents too.

Frugi is a kids brand known for it's organic, sustainable products that last whilst also being dreamy to both touch and look at. All of their muslins, bodies and bibs are made from 100% organic cotton and it's just heavenly.

East of India is a great go-to for gifts for all occasions and new babies is certainly one of them. Whether it's simply a little hanging trinket or a "baby's first" box, we're sure you'll find something that has just the right amount of sentiment with it.

This one is a gift more for the parents to enjoy. Whether it's for decoration in the little ones room or nursery, or just a nice scent to pop in the living room in the evenings when they get a (rare) chance to relax. The Country Candles new baby candles both have a gentle scent of rosewood and come in adorable soft pink or blue polka dot tins and make for a lovely gift.

Many people will have heard of Jellycat toys. They're one of the leading brands of cuddly toys and known for being both adorable and hilarious all at the same time. These are brilliant gifts for babies and thanks to the variety of characters, you'll be sure to find a unique and quirky toy to stand out from the usuals.

Now to bring it all together with the finishing touch of a lovely card. Whether it's a girl, boy, twins or just a gender neutral one, there's a great variety of cards to choose from and they're all super cute.

    New Home Treats

    New Home Treats

If there's one thing this pandemic has done, it's that it's made us far more aware of our surroundings. Whether it's sparked a new found love for the beauty of where we live, or provoked a realisation that perhaps it's time for somewhere new, it's probably impacted us all in some way. And with that, it would seem that many of us are making moves to new homes and new areas perhaps more than ever.

Sound familiar to you? Well, if you know someone who has just moved house or is just about to, here is the blog post you might need to give some inspiration on what gift to get them. Throw in a card and you're good to go.

    Trays

It can sometimes be difficult to know what homeware to get someone if perhaps they have a specific style or already have plenty of mugs, plates and dishes etc. But often a good tray can go overlooked and there are some really gorgeous ones available. Take the Asta Barrington ones for example, which are bright and beautiful and you can even choose one with their favourite drink or phrase on if you like. Or there's the Emma Bridgewater trays for those who love the classic country look, these are practical gifts too as they're a good size and sturdy.

    Tins

Sticking to alternative homeware, tins are another brilliant option. Not only are they really useful (you can never have enough tins, right?), but again, there are also some really lovely designs out there - the Emma Bridgewater ones being an obvious choice. You can fill them with goodies to add to the gift too, for example getting some luxury crackers and popping them in a cracker tin, or filling a biscuit barrel with their favourites.

    Candles

A common gift choice for a new home, but for a good reason. A good quality, delightful smelling candle can be a real treat as a gift. You could opt for the Country Candles New Home candle to mark the occasion, or instead go for their favourite scent, or a reed diffuser from St Eval that they can easily spruce up an empty shelf with.

    Austin Sloan Signs

For those whose homes follow a more rustic theme and who like a bit of humour, an Austin Sloan sign will always go down well. They can be hung in any part of the house or garden, and are a great way to bring some extra personality to the place.

    East of India

It wouldn't be a special occasion without some sentiment from East of India. If it's just a small token you want to give, or a little extra piece to add to the main present, a trinket might be perfect.

    Gift Vouchers

If you're still feeling like they already have everything they need, or you're not sure on their style yet, sometimes a gift voucher is the best you can give. That way they can save it for when they might need it, or choose something they've had their eye on for a while.

    Cards

And finally, you can't forget a card! The Emma Bridgewater one is one of our all time best-selling cards, so naturally had to get a mention, and it really is lovely. But there are other options too and all are gorgeous. Now your gift is complete!

Daisy Park Gift Guide: Final Stocking Fillers

Daisy Park Gift Guide: Final Stocking Fillers

We've almost reached that time where we all start to slow down a little and wind down ready for Christmas to really begin. But before that blissful part, there is of course that last minute rush that we all experience, getting those final few bits to bulk out the main gifts, and stocking fillers.

Here at Daisy Park we love the stocking fillers. It's a chance to give and receive some of those sometimes slightly random, but really quite handy and fun goodies. Anything from mini hand creams and stationery bits, to keepsakes and jewellery. So in this final week, we've taken inspiration from the humble stocking filler gift, and created a list of some of our top recommendations to pop inside it.

    1. Hand Sanitiser

Sorry! We know this is probably a bit obvious, but this year it really does feel like the most useful stocking filler to give to all the family, it'll definitely get used after-all. But take this as a chance to get them a more luxury one with a scent that will make them want to clean their hands 200 times a day, like the English Soap Company ones - heavenly. Or the Heathcote & Ivory ones for the same gorgeous scents, but in super compact packaging for the 2020 handbag essential.

    2. Bookaroo Stationery

Yet another really handy stocking filler, not only for youngsters at school/college/uni, but for the new wave of those working from home who left all of their bits at the office. Whether it's the notebook tidies, the very useful phone pocket or the bendy reading light for the little ones, you can't go wrong with a bit of stationery at Christmas.

    3. Luxury Powder Socks

One of the major underdogs of Christmas gifts, don't you think? They're the type of gift that seems a bit 'naff', but really, are quite a lovely thing to receive. Especially if it were a pair of the fabulous Powder socks, which come in an array of gorgeous prints and colours, and are wonderfully soft and cosy too. The alphabet socks are particularly great stocking fillers, get a pair for each of your receivers' names!

    4. East of India goodies

Perhaps the leader of all stocking filler gifts, East of India gives the option of sprinkling a little sentiment into your gifting. Their goodies make for perfect little extra presents, whether it's a ceramic hanging, a pebble, a trinket dish or one of their new lovely felt baubles, you can't go wrong with an East of India gift.

    5. Beauty

For those who love a bit of a pamper, we've got some fabulous little treats to throw in the stocking. Including mini hand cream trios, soap bars or lip balms, they're an easy option that are also ideal for those always on the go.

    6. A Gisela Graham brooch

These little accessories have been a favourite as stocking fillers or little extra gifts for a while now. The beautiful designs are lovely little keepsakes for someone who likes to add a little sparkle to their daily outfits, and we even have a couple of Christmas designs in store at the moment. Not for long though!

    7. Emma Bridgewater foldaway shopper

For someone who is perhaps trying to go a little greener, or simply for someone who never have enough hands, the Emma Bridgewater shoppers are great little extras to throw in.

There's so much more bits and bobs that we think are perfect for stocking fillers. You could get decorations for someone to add to their tree, tealights, coin purses, jewellery and so much more. Simply have a browse at our website or pop in and have a look around, we'd love to have you.

And as this is the final blog post before Christmas, here's us wishing you the best, and sending you many seasons greetings. We hope everyone manages to stay safe this year above all, and have a merry one in any way you can. Lots of love Daisy Parkers.
