Dopamine Decor: easy ways to add more fun and colour to your home
We don't know about you but over the last few years we've noticed a huge growth in the concept of 'dopamine decor', so much so that according to an article by the BBC back in December 2025, the term even has over 70,000 posts on TikTok. As you can probably imagine, we're pretty chuffed about this. Dopamine decorating is a huge part of the Daisy Park lifestyle - all you need to do is take a look around our shop. But if you're still relatively new to this concept, or just want some inspiration to inject some colour and fun into your home for the summer, then you've come to the right place! Here are a few ways we like to make our homes (and shop) bring us joy every day.
1. Vibrant vases
An easy way of uplifting any space is to introduce a little bit of nature into it. Whether that's through gorgeously green succulents or through fabulous flowers in an equally as fabulous vase. The great thing about vases is that if it's pretty enough, it doesn't even need to have flowers in all of the time. You could just keep it on a shelf or mantlepiece looking lovely all by itself. Our favourite in the shop right now is the Gisela Graham Clementine jug.
2. Playful plant pots
Sticking with the greenery theme, if you've got enough vases or prefer something a bit more fun, then these tin sets from Rex London are great. You could pop a little plant in them (although we'd recommend a fake one to stop the metal rusting when you water it), or you could use them for storage of things like kitchen utensils or stationery. They're perfect for a summery vibe but they're also just a fun burst of colour all year round, especially for a kitchen.
And for a delightfully fun mini plant pot, we love these new Gisela Graham ones that are inspired by fruits. They're so quirky.
3. Perfectly hilarious Prints
Adding a fun print to a room will immediately bring the vibe up, especially if it's a print that means something to you or reminds you of a special time, person or place. The Striped Circle prints are a brilliant example of taking this idea and adding humour into the mix too. For example, if you're favourite song is Murder on the Dancefloor, then you might like this version. Now, whenever you walk into the room it's hung up in, you'll not only laugh, but also be reminded of your favourite song and perhaps all of the memories attached to it.
So the main thing to take away here is that it's really in the little things and the details. For example, fun serving dishes or mugs can be another way of dopamine decorating, as well as tea towels, colourful candlesticks, all right down to a cute pen pot on your work-from-home desk. The best part is that there are no rules and you can really have fun with it!
