    Vegan Treats for Veganuary

    Vegan Treats for Veganuary

This month, many of you will be taking part in Veganuary. Typically this new tradition is themed around food and diet, but if you're enjoying your experience of being vegan and feel like exploring it a little further, check out these products that you can use in every day life or as gifts, that are also vegan.

The main star of the show here is our glorious range of luxurious soaps, which are all completely vegan and sustainably made. Starting with the ever-popular English Soap Company ones, they are enriched with heavenly shea butter for a moisturising experience and smell simply divine.

There's also the Barefoot Beauty soaps which come in unique and fun (and recyclable) packaging to make for fabulous gifts.

And let's not forget our newest soaps and most outgoing by far, the brilliant novelty soaps by Go La La. Made with natural ingredients and no palm oil, these don't only smell gorgeous, but will bring joy to someone's day when they see it. We get people laughing at them almost every day in the shop.

Alongside soaps, there's the wonderful Heathcote & Ivory products which are all vegan also. There is a great range of beautifully designed goodies that never fail to make a convenient and special gift.

And finally, we love a good candle here at Daisy Park. Luckily for us all, the candles we stock are all vegan friendly! Including St Eval's gorgeously natural and minimalistic candles, as well as the bright and beautiful Country Candle Company's fabulous candles too. There's a scent to suit everyone with these two brands combined and we're sure you'll find something you love.

These goodies, alongside our great variety of generally environmentally-friendly products, will get you further along the path of sustainability in no time. Cut down on plastic by using one of these reusable water bottles from Dopper or Chilly's, always have a reusable bag to put your shopping in with a Hinza bag, or make sustainability stylish with jewellery from a brand that focuses on making minimal impact on our environment, One & Eight. Perhaps it's not so hard, after all!

    Top 5 Eco Gifts

    Top 5 Eco Gifts

The modern world we live in today is one that's growing more and more caring towards the health of our planet. Here at Daisy Park, we may not be perfect but we try our best with what we've got, and we're always trying to learn tips on how to be as green as possible.

One way we can do that is by stocking brands who hold value in being environmentally friendly whilst remaining high in quality and still looking fab of course. Thankfully there is now a great selection of brands like this and we're happy to say we stock some of them! Each one can help you in becoming greener too, whilst still being the gorgeous products you look for. So here's our top 5 Eco gifts to make both your loved ones and the planet happy this Christmas!

    1. Hinza bags

Many of us have long abandoned using plastic carrier bags in supermarkets and shops, but Hinza bags are a step further than a reusable bag. Colourful and stylish, Hinza bags can be used for almost anything as well as your weekly shop. This could be storage, a picnic basket, or even a unique plant pot. Plus, they're now making an increasing amount of their bags out of a green plastic made from sugar cane!

    2. A reusable bottle

This one might be an obvious one but they're just such a great go-to. You could give someone a Dopper or Bioloco Loop bottle for those who appreciate something a bit more unusual, or the iconic Chilly's bottle is great for a more classic bottle.

    3. Beeswax food wraps

It's out with the cling-film and in with the beeswax wraps nowadays. Created for wrapping sandwiches, snacks or even larger things like a loaf of bread in, we love these because they also look so much nicer than cling-film, don't you think? They can be washed and used over again so we reckon they're one of those products that you'll think to yourself: 'how did I not use these sooner?!'

    4. Eco Chic bags

From lunch bags to cool-bag backpacks and foldaway shoppers, Eco Chic have got it covered. These make for great gifts because they're incredibly reasonable in price and are super handy. What's more, you might even be able to find matching items to make a set. Oh, and they're made from plastic bottles!

    5. St Eval candles

Zero waste, zero plastic and locally made from entirely natural ingredients, St Eval might just be the leader of all eco candle companies. Not to mention the fact that they smell absolutely heavenly and come in the cutest packaging. Choose from their tealights, tinned candles or even the Christmas edition pots.

These are a few of our favourite brands, but it's important to say that so many of the brands we stock are also just as great at being kind to the planet. Including Frugi for all things kids, One & Eight jewellery, and bath & body brands such as Barefoot, English Soap Co and the newest addition, Go La La.

With so many gorgeous products to choose from, we hope you feel good in knowing that so many of these lovely brands are green and gorgeous.

    The Colours of the Rainbow

    The Colours of the Rainbow

In recent times the rainbow, which is often seen as a symbol of hope, has become ever more popular after many of us started putting them up in our windows. From now on, we won't just associate it with hope, but with the pandemic, and the hard work that the NHS did through it all.

So perhaps you too, are a fellow rainbow lover who now attaches even more meaning to it. Or maybe you know an NHS hero who's birthday is coming up, or you're just getting your Christmas shopping done early. Whatever it might be, these goodies are all bursting with colour and would all make wonderful gifts, or just a gorgeous little treat for yourself.

First of all, the newest colourful products that have brightened up our store have got to be the beautiful Bombay Duck cushions and doormat. We adore the pompom detailing and vivid colours of these goodies, and think that they would make for brilliant house warming presents.

The other newest goodies are actually Christmas decorations. The glass bauble flew out in super speed last year, so we were sure to get them in again this year along with some of these other lovely rainbow decorations.

Our card selection is always looking colourful, there's no doubt about that. But these are a few of our favourites for various different occasions. A vibrant card through in the post box is one of the easiest ways to brighten up someone's day.

Finally, two of our favourite displays in the shop are the Chilly's bottles and Hinza bags, because each one is always filled with the colours of the rainbow looking bright and beautiful. The best bit is when we get a fresh delivery of them and can stack it all up so it's bursting with colours. The Asta Barrington trays are another good example of this, their trays are a great way to freshen up the home.

    Summer Florals

    Summer Florals

Here in South Molton in lovely North Devon we’ve got the summer season event of ‘South Molton in Bloom’ getting underway. Businesses around the town contribute and it means that beautiful bright flowers can be seen all around the square and elsewhere. We love it so much that we thought we’d theme this weeks blog post on all things floral to celebrate one of our favourite times of the year.

Emma Bridgewaters newest floral range is certainly one that has a place here. We love it, particularly the sunflower tray which is just so bright and sunny. Plus the mini tins which are super sweet and can be used to store little bits and bobs, or used as part of a gift stuffed with some sweets. Then there’s also the brand new calendars. We know it’s only July but we’re already getting ready for next year, and thanks to their gorgeous design they even fit in with the floral theme too.

Pip studio goodies are always bright and colourful much like seasonal flowers, especially the Blushing Birds ranges. Available in reds, yellows, blues pinks or khakis, there’s plenty to choose from to suit all tastes and add a touch of vibrancy to your home this summer. Even if it’s just for decoration such as using a mug to keep pens or makeup brushes in.

Gisela Graham mugs are such lovely mugs to have in the home or give as gifts. The sunflower mini mug & jug is the cutest little set and matches really well with all of the other lovely flowery goodies. If you’re a lover of sunflowers and have some growing in your own garden, these might be perfect for a cuppa whilst you give them some TLC.

Finally, although not necessarily floral in design, Hinza bags are such a great accompaniment to any flower or garden theme as they’re so useful for either storing gardening tools or making a quirky alternative to a plant pot. We think they look fabulous with some flowers in!

We do love a bright window, and right now our display is certainly looking that way, with all of these tulips, sunflowers and more, plus all of the lovely flowers all over town, its really looking quite gorgeous at the moment, just what we’ve all needed!

    National Picnic Week

    National Picnic Week

If you weren't already aware, this week is national picnic week. Here at Daisy Park this is quite exciting to us because not only do we love a great British picnic, but we've got some really rather lovely goodies to make it a perfect one.

If the weather is kind to us this summer we're sure lots of you will ne making the most of it and having picnics at every opportunity. So if you're as serious about making a perfect picnic as we are, here's a little something for you to snack on.

The star of the show here has got to be the gorgeous Emma Bridgewater bamboo crockery. The designs are timeless and so is the quality, so you can be sure to use these for years to come. The bad news is they're discontinuing this glorious range soon so be sure to grab your bits whilst you can!

The last thing you want on your picnic is sitting on grass that's still slightly dewy and standing up to that damp feeling on your bum, so a blanket is essential. If you want to go for a more stylish option then the Atlantic Blankets are just gorgeous. Plus, we've heard rumours that the White House brought some of their blankets to take back with them after they were in Cornwall for the G7 summit so there we go, White House approved.

Keep your cold drinks cold in the sun and your hot drinks hot with an iconic Chilly's bottle. No need to worry about having to drink warm water on a hot day, definitely a picnic essential. Grab one of their food pots as well to keep warm foods warm or cold foods cold, such as soup.

For sandwiches and other cool items, the Eco-Chic cool bags and lunch bags are great options. Not only are they sustainable products due to being made largely from plastic bottles, but they're also great quality and come in some lovely designs too.

And to put it all in? Hinza bags are ideal picnic bags thanks to their practical design. Easy to wipe clean, sturdy and of course plenty of gorgeous bright colours, you won't regret buying one of these.
