    Fathers Day Gift Guide

    Fathers Day Gift Guide

On Sunday 20th June the day that we celebrate all the dads and father-figures in our lives will be here again and hopefully one to remember as we'll all be able to actually spend it with them once again. However we do feel it's important to say that if this time of year is a difficult one for you, please feel free to click off this blog post. We have other blog posts you can read through, or simply have a little browse on our website. Either way, we understand, so do what's best for you.

First and foremost we're so excited about stocking Chilly's bottles that we've just got to include them! These are a practical gift with an added touch of luxury that would be ideal for the man who loves the outdoors. If he's already got a reusable water bottle, then alternatively you could always gift him one of the insulated food pots so he can take breakfast on the go wherever he's headed.

One thing you can never go wrong with is a good mug. By now most of you will know that we've always got an Emma Bridgewater mug for every occasion, and Father's day is no exception. Whether it's one of the lovely Dad mugs or perhaps one simply with his favourite animal or scene on, we're sure he'll be pleased.

Is the special man in your life a busy one? If he's someone who spends a lot of time at the office (even if that's at home nowadays), stationery is great for being a gift that's useful but still oozes style and a personal touch. The Voyager journals are exactly this, with their sleek design and handy refills, as are the Bookaroo notebooks with the bonus of all their accessories to add to it.

Now for a product for those who own that typical man cave. Whether it's a simple shed or a full-blown hideout, make it complete with one of these fab signs from Austin Sloan, or a bottle opener for when he's snuck out there for a peaceful beer on a Friday evening. These are also great for dads with a good sense of humour.

The Asta Barrington Beer tray might be another one for the man cave to serve beers or other drink choices on. Or it would even look brilliant just as a decorative display of love for his favourite drink.

Gisela Graham's mini mugs and jugs are always popular in our shop. The novelty of their simple yet cute and fun designs always go down a treat as gifts. You could give the tools one for the garden lover, or perhaps a sailboat for the guy who loves the sea.

Finally, it's always heart-warming to sprinkle a little bit of sentiment into a gift, and the same applies to dads, grandads and father-figures alike. As always, East of India is your most reliable choice here, with hanging hearts, coasters or trinkets that always seem to say the right thing. Pop one in with your gift for that final touch of love and we think your Fathers day gift might just be complete. Now all you need is a card..

And for the cards, we have our usual array of gorgeous Emma Bridgewater designs, along with plenty of other playful or sentimental themes for every type of man out there.

    Stationery Faves

    Stationery Faves

Is there anything better than new stationery? Over the past year we've all had to find excitement in the little things in life, and one thing we've found joy in here at Daisy Park has to be new stationery. Admittedly, we've always enjoyed stationery, so this isn't really anything new to us, but here's a few of our current favourites. Whether it's a treat for the kids settling back into school, or just a little work from home pick-me-up, there's a treat for everyone.

These Sardine page markers are always a winner as a little stationery gift. These are ideal for students who need to section off key revision areas in textbooks etc, and they're also just great fun as they come in a variety of bright, busy prints and their own little sardine tin.

Put them together with one of Bookaroos gorgeously vibrant notebooks and a pen and you've got a fabulous gift together for any fellow stationery lovers out there. These colours will be sure to freshen up anyones work from home space in no time.

But if brights aren't your thing then fear not, we've got plenty of lovely notebooks to choose from to suit all tastes. For those who love the seaside, Corniche encompasses all things coastal which is continued in their stationery, with the occasional addition of their signature mugs too. Or for those who like to keep things simple, the Voyager journals are the ideal smart and sleek notebook, plus you can buy refills so that they can be used over and over again.

Daisy Park gift guide: Gifts for Him

Daisy Park gift guide: Gifts for Him

This week on the Daisy Park gift guide.. him. That's right, the one who more often than not, is impossible to buy for. (Why is that?) We know buying for men can be a nightmare sometimes, and we'll admit that as a shop that caters for mainly women and general pretty things, this is not our area of expertise.

But, that doesn't mean the task of finding gift ideas for the men in our life is an impossible one. We've managed to pull together some goodies that we think would make great gifts this Christmas, so that you can hopefully get a bit of inspiration at the least.

    1. An Austin Sloan sign

You can always rely on a great gift when it's from Austin Sloan. Handmade in Britain, their rustic wooden style means that they bring a touch of character to any home. Choose from funny ones for the joker, or more sentimental ones for those big softies out there.

    2. An Emma Bridgewater Mug

This one can't be missed off the list. We mentioned in the last blog post how we're all spending more time at home using our own mugs, so we're reminding everyone of this once again, and therefore suggesting a good mug to spruce up the man in your lifes cuppas. Whether it's a mug for the dad, the gardener, or the one who spends his time in the shed, there's a mug for them all.

    3. A Dopper Bottle

Staying hydrated is important for all of us. So you really can't go wrong with a reusable bottle as a gift this Christmas. They're ideal for all everyday uses such as throwing into a work bag or taking on a picnic, and if you choose insulated steel bottle, can keep hot drinks in too. Plus, you'll be giving an eco-friendly gift as reusable bottles help to cut down on plastic pollution.

    4. An Ecoffee cup

In keeping with the theme of sustainability, reusable coffee cups are also a perfect gift for anyone who loves a hot drink. Whether it's for their morning coffee run on the way to work, or for taking in the car on a long journey, Ecoffee's reusable cups are just great. There's also a range of lovely colours and funky designs to suit all tastes.

    5. Handy Extras from Bookaroo

We may be biased as big time stationery fanatics, but handy little bits and bobs can sometimes be a really brilliant present, don't you think? And Bookaroo certainly do some really useful products. If he's someone who (in normal times) travels a lot, then the Travel Tech-Tidy might be an ideal gift for keeping his chargers and other bits in. Or if he's always on his iPad/tablet, the super handy stand might just be exactly what he needs. Plus more goodies that would be great for those who have had to turn their home into an office this year.

    7. A classic hip flask

This one might fall more into the novelty area of gift ideas, but an old-school hip flask has been a classic gift for men for many years. Ideal for he who loves a drink, or potentially useful as a handy travel-sized carrier for their favourite spirit, this hip flask might be the quirky stocking filler you need for the man in your life this Christmas.

Well, we've done it! A list of gift ideas for all the wonderful men in your life. We hope this has at least provided you with a bit of inspiration, we know it can so often be really tricky buying men.

We've still got more gift guides to come so stay tuned for those, and in the meantime you can shop all of our goodies on our website where we are still up and running as usual. Not long now!

    Shop Updates & What's New

    Shop Updates & What's New

So here we are again, a second lockdown. We know this is a tough one for so many of us, but we've done it before. We can do it again. Remember, it hopefully won't be as long, we're all more prepared, and this time there will hopefully be supplies in the supermarkets! Plus, we've got Christmas to look forward to, even if it's just a very laid-back one this year.

So, we want to keep things positive around here. We also want to help you, our lovely Daisy Parkers out the best way we know how: by making your online Christmas shopping as stress-free and easy as possible. You may have seen us mention these on our socials, but here's what we can offer you:

    • Website - as usual, our website it open 24/7.

    • Kerbside collection - If you're in the area you can order your goodies online and pick them up through the door (as safely as possible of course) Or give us a call 01769 579077 and we can organise orders for you.

    • Local delivery - If you live nearby but can't get out, let us know! We might just be able to drop it to your doorstep ourselves.
    • Card writing/gift wrapping - If you're unable to do so yourself, we can write out cards on your behalf (just give us the message you'd like inside), and wrap gifts up in lovely tissue paper and ribbons for you too.

Don't hesitate to call or email us if you're unsure on anything, but please do bare with us, after all we are an independent business with a small team simply trying our best, so there may be a few delays. But thank you for your continued support, and everyone's kind words this week. We really do appreciate it.

Now onto the fun stuff.. new stationery!

If you're anything like us, this will be exciting news for you. We've stocked Bookaroo bits for a while now and we're loving their stuff so much that we simply had to get some more goodies in. We're sensing that stationery like this will be massive this year for Christmas gifts, they're super handy and ideal for anyone working from home right now. Plus, they're easy to send in the post which is definitely a bonus now more than ever!

The reading stand is a new favourite of ours. As a bestseller from Bookaroo, it's ideal for all this extra reading many of us are doing these days. Prop your book up in bed on your lap, or place it on a bath tray with candles and your favourite tipple, and you've got a cosy night in sorted.

The travel tech tidies are great gifts too. Ideal for anyone who travels a lot, or who has a lot wires and bits (which is all of us these days, let's be honest!). You can keep earphones, charges, pens and more in this handy little wrap.

And don't forget the kids! There's some fab little treats for children who are into their reading or general stationery. The reading timer is super handy if you need some quiet time, then there's the mini bendy reading light that conveniently clips onto books. Plus the notebooks and accessories are perfect for school books and more.

And much more. Stationery is always a great go-to for Christmas gifts if you're stuck for ideas, especially this year with so many of us working from home. Perhaps someone who's struggling with doing so could do with a spruce up of their at-home desk area? Or maybe they're just a huge lover of stationery, we know the feeling! It's probably a bit sad how excited we get over stationery here at Daisy Park, but we just can't help it. We hope this blog post filled with these goodies has brought you a tiny bit of excitement in an otherwise not-so-exciting world too.

Sending lots of love to all of you, our fabulous customers. Take care and stay safe. Love from Em & the Daisy Park team. xx
